Typical ATS panel connections
In this page we focus our attention on a 60kVA ATS panel equipped with a Be28 Automatic Transfer Switch controller. We analyze the schematics and the specifications. On the right you see the required connection for it. The Be28 panel is designed to work with the power generator engine battery. As a matter of fact the panel includes a standby electronic battery charger. This is the best way to guarantee remote control monitoring when there is no power utility and the generator is not stable. The Be28 controller is able to work from 5 up to 36Vdc. You can connect engine with 12V or 24V battery (specify on order).
An 'Easy To Configure' ATS panel
This ATS panel features adjustable inputs & adjustable outputs. Spare terminal blocks are also provided to allow you wiring additional equipment into the panel. The Be28 drives six-DPDT relays; you can arrange additional functions combining the free-contact relays. You can interface this ATS panel with the most popular AUTO START modules available on the market. Factory setting features a 'positive' logic output. You can change the polarity of the outputs by modifying the internal panel settings.

The ATS panels equipped with the Be28 ATS controller are manufactured in the range 15 up to 160kVA. The standard configuration features an alarm output relay and two configurable outputs. You can choose up to over 40 programmable available options in the Be28 output menu. If necessary, you can configure the alarm output relay as well. We recommend that you use the battery of the engine to supply the ATS control panel.
The current consumption is only 70 mA in standby condition. The ATS panel features a 2 -Amps automatic battery charger. As you can observe, the current transformers are wired on the 'LOAD SIDE'. Thanks to this arrangement, you can get the current measurements when the load is connected to the power utility or when the load is connected to the generator.We recommend that you set up the Overload Current limit to protect the generator. You are anyway required to limit the current flowing through the ATS panel according to the nominal short circuit current indicated in the data sheet of each ATS control panel.
ATS panel remote monitoring
The Be28 is connected to DPDT relays. Only one section of the relays is used. You can wire the not used section according to your needs. Options for remote control via GSM or TCP-IP are available on request. All panels are provided with an RS485 serial interface and two lines of configurable inputs. Factory settings for the inputs are remote start and Mains Simulated (it does not allow to transfer the load to the generator).
